PRA Group payment plans

Independent guidance on PRA Group payment plans, affordability checks, changing payments and what to do if you cannot maintain an arrangement.

PRA Group says customers can set up flexible payment plans online or through its app and can adjust payments if circumstances change. Any arrangement should be affordable after priority household bills and essential living costs. If your situation changes, contact PRA Group rather than continuing an unaffordable amount.

How PRA Group describes its plans

PRA Group says payment plans can be set weekly, fortnightly or monthly and can be designed either to clear the balance or to make regular payments toward it. Its guidance says affordability questions are part of the setup process.

What to check before agreeing

Check that the balance and original creditor are correct, then work out what is genuinely affordable after rent or mortgage, council tax, utilities, food and other priority commitments. Do not agree to a payment merely because it is suggested.

If your circumstances change

PRA Group says customers can contact it to change a payment plan. If income falls or essential costs rise, ask for the arrangement to be reviewed and consider independent free debt advice if multiple creditors are involved.
