Klarna missed payments and financial difficulty
What to do if you cannot make a Klarna payment, including current UK regulation, financial-difficulty support and complaint routes.
If you cannot make a Klarna payment on time, use Klarna’s financial-difficulty support in the app or customer-service channels. From 15 July 2026, UK deferred payment credit products including Pay in 3 and Pay in 30 became FCA-regulated, so the regulatory position is different from older guidance that described these products as unregulated.
Do not rely on old BNPL guidance
Klarna’s current UK regulatory material says Pay in 3 and Pay in 30 became regulated Deferred Payment Credit from 15 July 2026. Older pages describing these products as outside FCA regulation are now stale.
Use the product-specific support route
Klarna has different products with different repayment structures. Check the exact product and payment schedule before agreeing any revised payment arrangement or disputing an amount.
