Who owns a Cabot Financial debt?

If Cabot has contacted you, check the Notice of Assignment and the exact legal company named on your correspondence so you know who owns the debt and who is collecting it.

What to check on your paperwork

Look for the original lender, the Notice of Assignment, the purchasing company, the operational company and the account reference. The company that owns the debt may not be the same company that writes to you or takes payments.

If you do not recognise the debt

Do not assume the debt is yours just because Cabot has your details. Raise any identity, balance or account-history dispute before agreeing payment.
